Alue Standard Poodles

Kelsey D.

Breeder of Poodles

Meet the breeder

I'm Kelsey D., the breeder behind Alue Standard Poodles located in Shepherdsville, KY. You'll often hear me refer to my dogs as "the kids", and my living room is often littered with toys. With my background coming from rescue, I understand all too well the need for wonderful family pets who will be a staple in their family's lives for years to come.

Q. & A. with Kelsey

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started in the rescue world and after the heartache of my last foster, I decided it was time to get a well-bred dog and follow the dream I've had since I was a child. I bought my first Standard Poodle, Kovu, and he's been my right-hand man through this whole journey. I love this breed so much, I know they deserve to have breeders who care about them and the future of the breed like I do.
  • What makes your program special?

First and foremost it's the dogs that make my program what it is. Everyone says they have the best dog, and they aren't wrong, but I believe my dogs' temperaments speak for themselves. They are truly wonderful, happy dogs. I'm a breeder who came from the rescue world, so I understand the need for healthy dogs. I love my dogs and I love my puppy family and I'll always be here for them.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, blue, cream, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
