Meet the breeder

I'm Leo B., the breeder behind Arctic Circle Kennels located in Udall, KS. Our dogs are held to a high behavioral standard and are raised for obedience and therapy work. They are also health tested! My goal is to breed friendly, carefree dogs!

Q. & A. with Leo

  • Why did you start breeding?

As my first Husky grew older I knew I would never get another one after he passed if I didn’t have one already. I had always wanted to breed as a kid and when I hooked up with the breeder I ended up buying from, she both inspired and mentored me to breed. Having worked in a shelter and vet clinic I knew that I wanted to offer quality Huskies.
  • What makes your program special?

My Huskies are carefully selected from other breeders, they are sculpted from a young age to be just as the breed standard described them to be “friendly carefree dogs”. My dogs have to meet certain behavioral criteria such as no food guarding, dog aggression, etc they also must pass numerous OFA tests and be proven purebred through embarking.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and white, gray and white, red and white, black tan and white, black and white, and agouti and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Acquiring a new puppy is a difficult endeavor, but Arctic Circle Kennels did everything right to ensure a smooth transition and that I was matched with the best dog ever. Whether it was potty training, crate training, socialization, vaccines, etc, they went above and beyond to give me a happy, healthy pup. My dog is now 4 years old, and getting him was the best decision of my life. Arctic Circle Kennels is a phenomenal breeder, and I'd be more than happy to adopt from them again in the future.
