Q. & A. with KRISTA
Why did you start breeding?
When it came time for us to get another puppy, there was no doubt we were getting another Golden Retriever. This time, though, we were going to do our homework. We researched breeders and looked at the testing that was done on their dam and sire. What food did they feed their dogs? Where did they raise their pups? What kinds of activities and training did they do with their dogs? I was not going to make the same mistake again. Along came Piper and I was introduced to the world of dog shows. Yes, dog shows. My husband and I joke that it is "Toddlers & Tiaras" for dogs. Dog shows, known as conformation, do serve a purpose, though. It allows us to show that we are breeding a dog to the standard of the breed, which is crucial in maintaining the integrity and health of the breed. I was hooked. And it didn't hurt that Piper loves to be shown in the ring and adores being pampered. I wanted everyone to have a Piper.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

These dogs are already reserved or have gone home.
