When my wife and I started looking for a breeder, we weren’t just trying to find a puppy, we were trying to find the right fit for our family. We spent a lot of time researching and being intentional about the process because we knew how important those early foundations are. That search led us to Ashley at ATW Retrievers on GoodDog, and from the very beginning, the experience felt different in the best way. Before pickup day, Ashley really took the time to get to know us. We had phone calls, exchanged messages, and even did FaceTime so she could understand what we were looking for and so we could get to know her as well. It never felt rushed or transactional, it felt like she genuinely wanted to make sure we were matched with the right pup, not just any pup. When we finally met the puppies, everything clicked. They were confident, well-socialized, and clearly raised with care and attention. You could tell they had been given a great start, which made us feel even better about the process. Since bringing Max home, that foundation has really shown. He’s incredibly smart, loving, and has such a great temperament. He’s the kind of dog that fits right into your life and quickly becomes part of everything you do. What also stood out to us is that Ashley’s support didn’t stop after pickup. She’s continued to be available and helpful, which says a lot about the kind of breeder she is and how much she truly cares. Looking back, we’re really grateful we found Ashley through GoodDog. The whole experience, from getting to know each other beforehand to bringing Max home, felt thoughtful and intentional. We didn’t just get a dog, we got the right dog for us.

Ashley was incredible. I wouldn’t get a puppy from anyone else. Her level of care and attention to detail is second to none. As first time golden puppy owners, we had a lot of questions. Ashely always made time to speak with us on the phone, not just responding to messages. She was also amazing about responding to our questions with answers that didn’t make us feel stupid or like we might not be ready for a puppy. She would tell us what she preferred, what was available, and what led her to make her decisions about topics we were wading through and trying to decide on. She puts her whole heart into raising the puppies and understandably wanted to know who we were and how we would be caring for our dog moving forward. We’re so glad we met Ashley and that we were able to find our best friend with her help.
