Meet the breeder

I'm Kyla H., the breeder behind Avalon English Retrievers located in Waynesburg, OH. Honesty, communication, trust, our dog's health, wellbeing & quality of life are all of utmost importance. My 3 children & I make a point to play & socialize with them daily, introducing them to new, age-appropriate, positive experiences as they grow to facilitate self confidence & adaptability.

Q. & A. with Kyla

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up on a small hobby farm always taking in stray cats & dogs as they would show up. They always stayed, never wondered again and lived out happy lives. My mother did some dog breeding off & on through the years while my sister & I were young. We learned quickly their needs & enjoyed helping in many ways. Our upbringing certainly fostered a great love for dogs & all animals.
  • What makes your program special?

I believe it’s my love & respect for the breed. I am extremely particular where they go come 8 weeks & have an interview process, a 2 year genetic health guarantee, & offer lifetime support. Its vital that they will be part of the family. I also strongly believe that good communication, honesty, transparency, empathy & flexibility are all qualities that set us apart from many others breeders.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
