I'm Arthur S., the breeder behind A&W Goldens located in Haviland, OH. Welcome to A&W Goldens. We offer quality, family-raised, dark, golden retrievers that make wonderful family pets and hunting partners. We strongly believe in having our parents genetically tested for known diseases in golden retrievers and have eyes, heart, hips, and elbows OFA certified. All puppies are raised by our family and come with a health guarantee and 2 year warranty.
Q. & A. with Arthur
Why did you start breeding?
The way we started breeding Golden Retrievers, is that I had a golden and fell in love with her personality, eagerness, and how excellent she was with all different ages. After looking for other quality bred puppies, I found there were many breeders not testing parents for known genetics diseases, and OFA eyes, heart, elbows, and hips certifications, and felt moved to breed quality Goldens.
What makes your program special?
What makes our breeding program special is the amount of research and the standards we hold our dogs to before breeding. We make sure that they do have parents that are tested and that the test results are acceptable to our standards. Not only once we have testing complete, but we also check their personality to make sure they are in line with the breed.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in a kennel on my property.
