I'm Joanne H., the breeder behind Awesome Paws located in Poplar Grove, IL. We take great pride in breeding dogs with exceptional temperaments, conformation, gorgeous coats and longevity. We take great pride in our puppies/ dogs going to the "right" homes. We are dedicated to "matching " your family with the best puppy/ dog for your life style.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I stated out as a dog handler at the age of 12yr. doing Jr. Showmanship. I learned how to groom several breeds of dogs and along the way fell in love with the poodle! I got my first poodle when I was 20yrs and from there my passion just grew! I truly enjoy every aspect of breeding. From the birthing process to raising and training these fur babies to be well adjusted dogs.

  • What makes your program special?

    They are rasied with a dog trainer/ behaviorist. I am out to set the best foundation for a well adjusted pet. We handle our puppies from day one. Exposing them to everyday life in a home environment. They interact with people of all ages, cats and dogs of all sizes.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Aussiedoodle puppies include toy and mini sizes. Poodle puppies include miniature and moyen sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Aussiedoodle puppies include blue merle, red merle, black and white, black tri-color, and red phantom. Poodle puppies include black, blue, brown, cafe au lait, cream, silver-beige, parti, phantom, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Joanne

Joanne has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Joanne partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $6,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price is based on color,temperament and age of the puppies and training. We ask for a deposit to hold a specific puppy. At the time the deposit is place to hold that puppy, it is non- refundable. If a deposit is placed before a litter is born and we don't have something in that litter for you, we will refund the deposit.”

Joanne may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
