Meet the breeder

I'm Brenna J., the breeder behind Barkumentary Bulldogs (frenchie breeder) located in Olympia, WA. We are a small, home-based breeding program rooted in our experience with fostering. Through fostering bully breeds, we have seen the impact of preventable health issues and surgeries. We are committed to producing health-tested, puppies raised in close relationship with people—never in kennels.

Q. & A. with Brenna

  • Why did you start breeding?

Wanting to understand what ethical breeding truly looks like, I searched out breeders in my area. That search led me to Frenchie Bulldog Kisses, where I found not only an ethical program aligned with my values, but also a trusted mentor and now close friend. After sharing my vision, I was honored to be entrusted with a perfect puppy, the foundation for the future I envision.
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding program is intentionally small and just beginning, allowing us to be deeply hands-on and thoughtful with every decision. We are focused on building a transparent, ethical program centered on health, temperament, and raising dogs in close relationship with people. As we grow, we are actively developing our website and social media presence.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include brindle, fawn, fawn brindle and white, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Brenna

Brenna has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Brenna partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We take a lot of care in placing each puppy in the right home. Because we spend so much time with them from day one, we get to know their personalities, energy levels, and little quirks really well. Puppies are matched around 7–8 weeks of age, once their temperaments are more clear. While we always consider preferences (color, gender, etc.), our priority is making sure each puppy is the best fit for their future family. We’re happy to guide you through the process and help you find the puppy that feels right for you—not just in looks, but in personality and lifestyle. ”
