I'm Brenna J., the breeder behind Barkumentary Bulldogs (frenchie breeder) located in Olympia, WA. We are a small, home-based breeding program rooted in our experience with fostering. Through fostering bully breeds, we have seen the impact of preventable health issues and surgeries. We are committed to producing health-tested, puppies raised in close relationship with people—never in kennels.

Brenna has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Brenna partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“We take a lot of care in placing each puppy in the right home. Because we spend so much time with them from day one, we get to know their personalities, energy levels, and little quirks really well. Puppies are matched around 7–8 weeks of age, once their temperaments are more clear. While we always consider preferences (color, gender, etc.), our priority is making sure each puppy is the best fit for their future family. We’re happy to guide you through the process and help you find the puppy that feels right for you—not just in looks, but in personality and lifestyle. ”

“Pricing includes AKC registration, a veterinary complete health check , age-appropriate first vaccinations, and deworming. Early socialization, beginning potty training and welcome home kit. A nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy and demonstrates serious intent, allowing us to plan care, expenses, and placements responsibly.”
Brenna may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Brenna offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Brenna directly.
When you pay and communicate on Good Dog, you’re covered by Payment Protection.

Pupdate ! Spicy Olive and Pistachio are both reserved. We are over the moon happy with the matches that were made and the new Pawrents, we know our babies are headed to good homes. We will be keeping the pups a little longer to have more time with mom and teach them some new skills. We still have Mr Big Mac ( Macadamia) and the ever so handsome Mr Cashew . Now is the time to reach out if you’ve been dreaming of a silly, full of love companion.

These two are still looking for their forever homes 💚 Miss Olive — our tiniest girl with the biggest personality. She’s sweet, calm, and so snuggly, but also curious and always ready to play. Mr. Pistachio — our biggest roly-poly and a total fan favorite. He’s incredibly snuggly, a little spoiled, and yes… already sneaking into the bed for naps 🥹 We’re working on smaller meals for this growing boy, but those rolls just make him that much more lovable.

First vet visit in the books 🐾 All brave, all healthy, and full of those signature little wiggles 💚 The vet couldn’t get over how chunky and happy they are. These babies are growing up so fast, and it just keeps getting sweeter from here.

Update #2 🐾 We are heading into the fifth week of life, and the puppies are making really nice progress. It’s April Fools’ Day and I fully fooled myself that I would have had a full night sleep by now! It’s worth every lost moment of sleep. They are fully engaged in their environment — running, playing, snuggling, and interacting with each other and us throughout the day. Their personalities are starting to come through, and they’re becoming more social, curious, and affectionate each day. They are doing well with their transition to food and are now eating mush meals 3+ times daily with strong appetites. They have also had their first two dewormings as part of their routine care. We’ve introduced early potty habits, and they’re progressing well — • All puppies are consistently using the litter box for pooping • Most are choosing the litter box for peeing, with very little prompting • Some are using the litter box completely on their own without any prompting (Pistachio… I’m looking at you, champion 🏆) They’ve also found their voices, but overall this is still a fairly calm, quiet litter. Right now, they’ve expanded beyond the whelping area and have taken over their warm, cozy room filled with toys and space to explore. They’re getting lots of daily interaction and attention. We are itching to get out and show them off, but keeping everyone healthy comes first — so for now, we’re “stuck” snuggling, playing with toys, and watching movies… oh darn 😉 Coming up next: We’ll be transitioning them into a larger enclosure within our home where they’ll continue to be raised around family and everyday activity. Their safety and well-being remain a top priority as they grow.

*“3½ week update 🤍 This is our first litter, and it’s been such a special experience. The puppies are strong, healthy, and really starting to show their personalities. Their coloring is coming in beautifully, and each one is becoming so unique. I’ve been with them around the clock since day one (even moved into the room with them), making sure they’re cared for, handled, and loved constantly. They’re starting routines, working on potty habits, and had their first meal today. I love sharing these everyday moments — if I were choosing a puppy, I’d want to see them like this, not just in posed photos. I’m so proud of this little group.”**

We are getting so close to our due date and this little chunker is as round as easter egg! Not too much longer. Penny is in great spirits. I wish she could tell us how she’s really feeling, but she’s just been her usual snuggly, lovable self. Her sisters who are rescues and have had multiple litters of their own know what’s going on and have been giving her extra love. More updates soon!
