I'm Fran B., the breeder behind Beam's Beagles located in Jerome, MO. We offer top-quality family pets with a focus on optimal health, temperament, and adherence to breed standards. My husband and I have been married for 59-years and have owned Beagles for more than 40 years. We live on a Missouri river bottom farm with a few pet Beagles that we love and consider to be family members. We enjoy participating in AKC and UKC conformation and performance events. We occasionally have puppies available with bloodlines containing both Show and Hunting Champions.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We've always had Beagles for pets/hunting partners. Around 2005, I started raising pups to continue our excellent hunting bloodlines for ourselves as well as family members. Then in 2008, when Uno won the Westminster Dog Show, I became a hobby dog show enthusiast and acquired my first show blood Beagles. I want to raise my own bred-by champions.

  • What makes your program special?

    I have studied and followed many AKC/UKC show bloodlines since 2008, and have been fortunate to acquire dogs with the bloodlines I truly admire.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include 13-inch and 15-inch sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are black tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Fran

Fran has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Fran partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“Great care is taken to ensure buyers are the right fit for owning a beagle. Once approved and deposits are received, buyers will select their puppy of choice at approximately 4 weeks of age in order of the deposits received. ”

Puppy prices include a $500 deposit and between $1,300 - $1,600 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Included with your puppy are the guarantee, age-appropriate de-worming and vaccinations, proper socialization, and a complete written physical by our licensed veterinarian. The deposit is generally non-refundable, but will work with buyers who encounter unforeseen circumstances.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

    Fran was great to work with from start to finish. Her communication was strong from the beginning, she kept us updated when the puppies were born and continued with regular updates on their milestones. We got lots of pictures and videos of them playing outside, staying active, and even during vet visits, which gave us a lot of confidence in how they were being cared for. You can tell she truly cares about the puppies. Nothing ever felt transactional, our pup was clearly loved and in great hands the entire time. When travel got hectic with airports, she went the extra mile to recommend a reliable and cost-effective land transportation option, which ended up working out even better for us.     This was my first time using Good Dog and also my first time owning a beagle. Fran was so helpful with the process and was great to work with from start to finish.     I’ve been wanting a good beagle from a reputable breeder for a while and Fran definitely delivered. I could tell from the first day that Fran took great care of him because he was so happy and social. I have never seen a happier puppy!
