Mary B.

Breeder of Pembroke Welsh Corgis

Meet the breeder

I'm Mary B., the breeder behind Benischek's P. W. Corgi's located in Wheatland, IA. Our dogs are raised in our home and bred for health and temperament with a focus on conformation and intelligence. We are dedicated to providing our families with wonderful, healthy family pets. All parents are tested with Embark breeders panel and or Optimal Selection panel. Some litters are tested with Gensol diagnostics. We also register the pup into your name with the AKC registration plus the microchip (AKCreunite), So you don't have too. It is one less thing you have to worry about.

Q. & A. with Mary

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got my first Corgi pup in 2008. She was only 2 days old. I helped bottle feed her and her sister (mom passed). She was a gift from the breeder, for helping out. I have been in love with the breed ever since. Now I have 3 other females and a stud.
  • What makes your program special?

We are focused on promoting healthy and happy pups. We will not breed a litter if the parents are not fit to produce puppies. Parents tested for DM, VWD, EIC, plus others. This allows us to have peace of mind when the litter is born and we know we are providing sound and happy companions to families. We send copies of all the testing that we do on the parents and pups (If pups need testing).
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include fawn, red, sable, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
