I'm Andre B., the breeder behind Berner Ridge Kennels located in West Chicago, IL. We are passionate about breeding Bernese Mountain Dogs and Bernedoodles to bring joy to families. With over 30 years of experience, we raise our puppies in a loving, nurturing environment, focusing on their health, temperament, and loyalty to ensure they grow into the perfect family companions.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My parents started breeding Miniature collies 30 years ago and have continued with BDM's and now Bernedoodles. I started my first BDM program under their supervision quite young. With a brief hiatus while living abroad for several years during my college years. Upon returning and starting a family of own I wanted my kids to share that experience of puppies and caring for something so precious.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our puppies receive lots of supervised socialization. I'm constantly learning the best practices wether it be vaccine schedules, nutrition, delayed spaying or neutering, attending breeding seminars or symposiums, running blood work regularly on my dogs and paying close attention to the mental and physical well being of my dogs.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Bernedoodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are black rust and white. Bernedoodle puppies include black, tri-color, blue merle, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Andre

Andre has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Andre partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We are committed to matching each puppy with the family and lifestyle that best suits its unique personality. Because every puppy develops at its own pace, we wait until they are at least six weeks old before completing formal temperament evaluations. This allows us to accurately assess each puppy's confidence, energy level, social tendencies, and overall disposition. Families are welcome to reserve their preferred gender in advance. Once temperament evaluations are complete, we thoughtfully guide each family through the matching process to help ensure a lifelong fit for both the puppy and its new home.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes 1 year health guarantee, de-worming, up to date vaccine schedule. Pricing is dependent on markings/ burnishing.”

Contract & health guarantee

Andre may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
