I'm Shelly S., the breeder behind BFF Bernedoodles located in Fallbrook, CA. We breed for temperament, socialization, and a health puppy. We are unique in the fact we are a small family breeder that only have a few litters each year. We are committed to growing slowly so that each dog and every litter receives the care, individualized attention, and socialization needed.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Shelly has always been interested in breeding dogs. I felt I wasn't able to give the time and energy needed until both of us could give full time energy to a breeding program. We knew immediately that the Bernedoodle was our breed when we adopted Willow our first bernedoodle.

  • What makes your program special?

    We are able to focus all our attention on our dogs, the puppies, and new families wanting to adopt our puppies. It's important to us that we can be here full time and are completely hands on for all their care. We have the room for a puppy nursery and an enclosed outside area just for the puppies. We have a great support system in family, friends, and our great mobile vet.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are mini size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red, chocolate merle, tri-color, phantom, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Shelly

Shelly has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and $2,750 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Contract & health guarantee

Shelly may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
