I'm Melissa D., the breeder behind Bible Belt Ranch located in Hawkins, TX. Breeding Standard Poodles with focus on hunting lines that will exceed as field dogs as well as loving home companions. BBR Carolina received her AKC JH title at just over a year old. She loves birds and going out hunting but has an amazing “off switch” and is just as happy to be a couch potato snuggled up inside. We aim to produce well rounded puppies with strong hunting lines.

Pups turned a whole week old today! They are all healthy and doing well with their early neurologic stimulation exercises and nail trims. Their favorite thing to do is still get snacks from mom, but they also enjoy cuddle piles and human snuggles.

About Carli
Carli has her AKC JH title, loves to go out working but is also happy to be a couch potato. She can be a little reserved with new people and dogs at first but quickly warms up and makes new friends. Great with kids, cats, and chickens. She has an eager to please personality and is very affectionate.
Excellent health testing
Excellent level
Bible Belt Ranch reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
