Meet the breeder

I'm Philip T., the breeder behind Birch Spring Brittanys located in North Hampton, NH. We breed for a multi-purpose Brittany with a focus on temperament, health, form, and function. We care about the breed and do everything in our power to breed sound dogs to ensure healthy and happy puppies. Our puppies’ health and wellbeing is our main priority. We are passionate about Brittanys, and our love for these dogs shines through in every aspect of our breeding program. My wife and I are both active with our local Brittany Club. We run several events for our Brittany Club. I am also active with our national club the American Brittany Club.

Q. & A. with Philip

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got my first Brittany back in 1975. We started breeding after I became a member of NAVHDA and Central Maine Brittany Club. We have loved the process and enjoy placing puppies with loving, forever families.
  • What makes your program special?

We have the most Brittany NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeder Awards. Our pups love to be lap dogs yet hunt hard. Our breeding program focuses on health, temperament, conformation, pointing, retrieving, water love, drive, and cooperation. We have high expectations for our puppies and strive to place each one in an enriching and loving home! I enjoy working with our puppy people. That is why I offer free training to the pups we breed. Everything from beginner training to advance training.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

“Puppies come with a health guarantee, AKC registration, first round of shots, deworming, micro chipped and a health certificate. We also offer free training help to our puppy people. During the summer months we run training classes for our puppy owners from beginner level to advance training with birds for the hunters. We are a Hobby Breeder. All of our breeding stock have titles and have passed health clearances. We don't take deposits until after the pups are born and you are offered a puppy. Once we start doing puppy testing starting at 5 weeks. We keep the puppy buyers informed on how they are developing. Based on over 30 years of experience breeding. We work to match you with a pup that will meet your needs. If it doesn't look like it will work out. We offer you your deposit back or move you to the next litter. It's your choice. A quite pup in a loud household or a very active pup in a quite household is not a good match.”
