I'm Sharon S., the breeder behind Birchview Miniature American Shepherds located in Minneapolis, MN. We are passionate about raising well-rounded puppies who will excel in any venue with their new families. We take great pride in our pups. We devote our time, energy, and efforts to each litter to ensure our puppies are properly socialized from the moment they are born and prepared to excel in their forever homes.
Q. & A. with Sharon
Why did you start breeding?
I purchased my first Mini American Shepherd in 2000 with the intention of showing him in conformation, herding, and agility. We went to our first show in 2001 (an IABCA show as we were still Mini Aussies then) where Tux won a Best In Show Rare Breed Puppy rosette and it's been a wild ride from there.
What makes your program special?
As a breeder, I feel a sense of responsibility to prioritize the overall health and temperament of each of my puppies and to ensure that they are loved and well cared for prior to joining their forever homes. Adhering to the national club standard for all recommended health screening tests is paramount to my dogs’ wellbeing as well as my personal integrity.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
