I'm Nicole L., the breeder behind Black Forest Doodles located in Colorado Springs, CO. We are an in-home program focusing on ENS, desensitization, and socialization. We produce healthy and happy puppies bred for temperament first & color last.

Why did you start breeding?
I’ve always had rescues my entire life and I love my “pound puppies,” however, I know that adopting a shelter pet is not the right answer for some families. I am dedicated to my breeding animals and am able to provide them with the best possible beginnings. I have an amazing mentor who helps anytime I have a question.What makes your program special?
The hours and hours of training, ENS and puppy culture, each puppy in our litters are health and coat color/trait tested at birth, I offer ongoing support and education to my puppy families. I’m constantly wanting to learn more about breeding, whelping, conformation, structure, genetics, etc. I have an extensive contract and am very picky about who takes one of my puppies home.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, apricot, red, chocolate, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Nicole
Nicole has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Nicole may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. Black Forest Doodles reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Goldendoodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
