I'm Jackie H., the breeder behind BLACK HILLS PEMBROKE CORGIS located in Oral, SD. My husband Richard and I live on a ranch near Hot Springs SD. We lease out our property for grazing. Our home is our animals home. Richard is a Vietnam War veteran and retired. He is a blacksmith. Jackie Hanson is dedicated to her family and Pembrokes!

Why did you start breeding?
I've always loved the herding dogs. The Pembroke became a favorite breed for many reasons. I began breeding them to share in my love of the breed. I've always been an AKC traditional breeder. I believe in keeping my dogs as true to the AKC standard as I can. I strive to be progressive, improving my quality of Pems.with each generation.What makes your program special?
Our dedication to our Pems. Their lifestyle and quality. Traditional breeder, we follow AKC standards. Our dogs are OFA and disease tested. Individuals are judged on their personalities, and overall intelligence. We do not take breeding lightly. They must possess many different qualities to be considered for reproduction.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
