I'm Tessa M., the breeder behind Black Powder Kennel located in Spring Hill, FL. We are AKC Breeders of Merit as well as AKC Bred with HEART participants. We not only show our dogs (AKC & IABCA), but we work our dogs and fully health test them as well. Our puppies are loved family members 1st and foremost!
Q. & A. with Tessa
Why did you start breeding?
We had several mentors and wanted to follow the path of the good and add to it. We decided we wanted to give back to our fantastic breed and combine all facets of proper breeding.
What makes your program special?
It starts before the whelping box in hours of studying each pedigree and going through and making sure the best matches possible are made for each breeding. We then make sure we start all our babies off right with proper socialization and training. We comb through applicants and make sure we make the right match between puppy and family. We want forever homes for our puppies.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
