I'm Karen C., the breeder behind Blazing Star Goldens located in Elizabeth, CO. We focus on the qualities that make wonderful family companions. To promote genetic diversity, we typically use imported European champion studs. Our puppies are raised right in our home and socialized on our alpaca farm, where they’re introduced to a variety of people and animals from an early age.
Q. & A. with Karen
Why did you start breeding?
My husband and I had considered breeding Golden Retrievers for some time, and we finally felt the moment was right to begin. After researching reputable breeders, we found a wonderful female who had already had a litter, and later connected with a beautiful stud who met all our criteria. Our goal is to raise happy, healthy English Cream Golden Retrievers--dogs we’ve come to love deeply.
What makes your program special?
Over time, we discovered that the gentle temperament and beautiful elegance of the English Creams and their stocky build is what truly captured our hearts. Our mission is to raise the healthiest and most affectionate English Cream Goldens possible. We truly enjoy sharing the joy and companionship this amazing breed has brought into our lives with others!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
