I'm Katelyn S., the breeder behind Blended Acres & Kennels located in Bellevue, IA. Our dogs are more than pets, they are our family. We raise our dogs with love, attention and health in mind. We raise our puppies with love and attention so they can become well-socialized and loving additions to their furever homes. It’s important to us that we continue to improve our program and share our knowledge.

Why did you start breeding?
My fiance and I grew up surrounded by animals and we wanted this for our kids as well.What makes your program special?
Our puppies grow up at our home, with plenty of space to run, learn and grow. We give our puppies many different experiences throughout their time with us on our acreage.What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

Katelyn and her entire family were wonderful to work with. Very prompt with responses and has answers to any of the questions I had. Her breeding facility matches that of most luxury homes and all of the dogs are wonderfully taken care of. Our baby Jem is the best pup in the world and we couldn't be happier with our decision to use Katelyn and Blended Acres. If we get our pup a sibling it will definitely be through her.
