Meet the breeder

I'm RoxAnne B., the breeder behind BleuMoon Akitas located in South Whitley, IN. Our goal is to raise healthy, confident and secure puppies that are able to adjust easily to new people, environments and situations. Our routine is designed to give the puppies a great foundational start in order to become the best possible member of your family!

Q. & A. with RoxAnne

  • Why did you start breeding?

After our youngest child left for college I was in need of a hobby. We attended an AKC Show in Fort Wayne and watched the Akita Class. I instantly fell in love with this majestic breed! Raising Akitas has been the perfect retirement activity! It’s a family affair as our kids and grandkids love to come over to snuggle and help care for the puppies which also adds to the whole socialization process.
  • What makes your program special?

Both parents come from outstanding breeding stock with a 5 generation pedigree full of Champion bloodlines! We breed for optimal health and conformation… but especially temperament! We are producing gorgeous Akitas with huge bone and those beautiful big bear heads.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
