Meet the breeder

I'm Valerie F., the breeder behind Blue Moon Standard Poodles located in Madison, WI. We do ENS, Puppy Culture. Our puppies are socialized, handled daily, clipped, groomed, exposed to everything. Parents are clear for everything pawprints genetics tests for. They also have OFA hips, elbows, eye certification, and thyroid tested. CHIC numbers. They have advanced trick titles, conformation titles, cgc titles, etc... We are constantly doing new things with our poodles.

Q. & A. with Valerie

  • Why did you start breeding?

Mainly my love of color genetics. I bred rough collies 35 years ago, dun-factored quarter horses up until 10 years ago. Now that the horse business is retired, I dove into standard poodles.
  • What makes your program special?

The heart and soul that goes into each litter. I spend hours and hours a day with them. They are clipped and dremmeled every week from 3 weeks up. Raised with a mixture of Puppy Culture and common sense and tons of snuggle time. The puppies are social, people-oriented and easily trained.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, blue, parti, phantom, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
