I'm Julie K., the breeder behind Blue Ridge Doodles and Poodles located in Shelby, NC. Our pets are apart of our family and we want to share that with others who are looking for someone else to love and cherish. We live on a few acres in Shelby, North Carolina that over looks the blue ridge mountains. We raise our puppies around our family and other animals on our small farm.
Q. & A. with Julie
Why did you start breeding?
I have always wanted a poodle, and my husband got me one for my birthday and he is so smart and loving we decided to get another one a few years later. It was hard to find a good breeder in our location, so after having Penny for a while we decided to have a litter of puppies to share the poodle love with others. I have totally enjoyed seeing them become parents.
What makes your program special?
I think my breeding program is special because we are a small program. I only have one litter a year, and our puppies are raised with our children and with other animals on our farm.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, black, and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Penny
Penny has been a joy to have. She is truly a princess. She loves to play fetch and run with my kids all the time. I love her coat! It isn't super curly, which makes it easy to brush out and take care of. She is very gentle with my kids and other pets. She loves to lay on our porch with our cat.
Good health testing
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A).

About Charlie
Charlie is an amazing Poodle he doesn't jump on anyone as they enter our home. He is very laid back, loves to watch TV with us at night. We have taught him many tricks! I think his favorite is closing and opening doors, which can be crazy at times, but I think it is awesome that he learned it by just watching us.
