Meet the breeder

I'm Kimberly N., the breeder behind Blue River Goldens located in Lake Mills, IA. Welcome to you from Blue River Goldens! I have had the pleasure of sharing my life with this breed since 2009. A retired show dog entered my life, my first Golden Retriever, and the rest is history. I have come to know and love this breed even more, I hope to share a little of this with others.

Q. & A. with Kimberly

  • Why did you start breeding?

I decided to start breeding Golden Retrievers as a way to give back to both the breed and to people looking for an ethically bred, healthy, happy dog companion. It has been like traveling with Elvis Presley when I am out and about with River. He has a very magnetic personality. Many judges and trainers continue to comment on his outgoing, people loving, VERY HANDSOME persona.
  • What makes your program special?

We only raise one litter a year at best. Each puppy is planned for and the result of health tested parents. All of our dogs have gone through training and have competed in a variety of events. Proving they have both brains and beauty. Before going to their furever homes, our puppies are handled daily and given every chance at a long, health productive life.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
