I'm Ken H., the breeder behind Blue River Kennel located in Garfield, MN. Field bred English Springer Spaniels, are our passion. We have over three decades of a"proven" track record of excellence. Our dogs are a long commitment to "field bred" dogs. English Springer Spaniels only. We are "not" a multiple breed kennel... Our dogs are proven to be of the soundest genetics. From some of the best, proven, national field champions, and field champions, in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom. Gun dogs | Family Members | Healthy | Driven. The true versatile breed. We are located in the Alexandria MN Lakes area. Providing quality gun dogs for over 3 decades. Offering field bred, English Springer Spaniel puppies, and an occasional started dog, on a limited basis.

Our puppies include liver and white and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

About Shauna
Shauna is a female English Springer Spaniel. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Ken decided to make her part of their program. Ken has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy 4 (PRA-crd4), DNA Profile
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
