Why did you start breeding?
During a very stressful time of my life of my husband being gone 9m out of every year, and the struggle of fertility treatments- I longed for there to be a companion in my life to comfort me during the difficult times. I searched Google for "good family dogs" and springers was one of the top ones. I very impulsively searched the nearest breeder in SC and purchased my first springer. The rest is history. Their love, loyalty, silliness, and need to please- velcro like selves cannot be matched. I am forever greatful for my impulsive decision that led me to want to create the same love for others that these dogs can give.What makes your program special?
My program is different because of my passion for very well rounded dogs. I like to breed for diversity so the offspring have options, they can be couch potatoes, dock dive, fowl hunt, or prance in the show ring. I want them to do it all. I really love the big boned, blocky head of the European dogs, but I also love the stature, ears, and grace of Bench style. I want my dogs to be able to hang with you on a long hike or sleep all night and day if times are hard.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black white and tan, lemon and white, liver white and tan, liver and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $500 - $900 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Deposit holds your choice puppy until your puppy is 8 weeks of age. Deposit is non-refundable. At 8 weeks, puppy must be paid in full upon pickup, if puppy stays for over 10 weeks, boarding fee will apply of $10/day. If for any reason, your choice pup dies or is deemed to have an illness or defect at vet visit, deposit will be refunded or applied to another pup if available or transfer to another litter.”

Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Phosphofructokinase Deficiency (PFK), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

+4Kristy was very responsive and knowledgeable about the breed. She made sure to show us how to properly clean our puppy’s ears as we are first time springer owners. When we went to pick up our puppy she had two puppies from a younger litter with her that she was giving extra care because they were on the smaller side. You can tell that she is passionate about caring for the health of the puppies while they are in her care and after they go home with their new families. You can also tell that our puppy is well socialized which made bringing him home a lot easier. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to get a springer spaniel!

As previous Springer Spaniel owners, we love the breed and are so glad we found Bluegrass Bend. Kristy breeds the most unique and beautiful Springers, and we absolutely fell in love with this tri-color roan the minute we saw her. Kristy really cares for all her dogs! We very quickly discovered that our pup was already well socialized with other dogs and people and she absolutely loves kids all thanks to Kristy. Our puppy is now six months old, and she has developed into a very, confident, outgoing and friendly pup.
