I'm Rachel M., the breeder behind Boon Hill Poodles located in Princeton, NC. Our puppies are raised to be the perfect family pet and companion. Living in our home, our pups experience all the commotion of daily life right alongside us. Desensitization to as many situations is our priority in order to create a temperamentally sound and pleasant family member.
Q. & A. with Rachel
Why did you start breeding?
With such extensive experience with dogs, I see hundreds of unhealthy, structurally unsound, and temperamentally questionable dogs every year. It became my mission to provide my community with a better option. It is possible to have it all! Health, conformation, and temperament! I want my puppies to be the best dogs you’ve ever owned.
What makes your program special?
Being a professional groomer, I am able to offer a wide variety of experiences to the puppies before they ever go to their new home. My salon is at my home, so the puppies have had extensive grooming training. They also are treated as members of my own family while they are here, raised in my home alongside my young child. My puppies are ready to tackle anything you throw at them!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue, brown, and cafe au lait. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel, DNA Coat/Trait Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
