I'm Kelli T., the breeder behind Breaking Bad Staffords located in Houston, TX. I'm an in-home breeder of Staffordshire Bull Terriers. I feel I will offer quality puppies for families who share the same love and passion I do for these incredible companions. They are bred for health and show/sport quality with a focus on the breed standard. I would be thrilled to introduce you to my dogs. And I’d love to discuss what I hope to produce as I am still building my foundation. My goal is to bring more awareness to this breed and encourage my future puppy owners to be involved in the breed. I’d be there every step of the way in getting newcomers introduced and involved in whatever avenue they would like to explore. IMPORTANT Information for those who are new to the breed. A quote by John Cocchiola: "New stafford owners should be made aware of a few things before they take the plunge. Staffords are not average dogs, they are other than average. If you think your Stafford is strong, it's probably stronger than you think. It can probably run faster and jump higher than you think too. They should not be underestimated. They have a lot of energy. They love people and can't be cool about it. They might dislike other animals and they can't be cool about that either. They need human companionship. They need to be with you. They play rough. They might play with their teeth. They're affectionate to a fault. They can be relentless. They'll be the best dog you'll ever have, but people need to understand them going in, and be ready for the ride.’.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My love for Staffordshire Bull Terriers and my involvement in the show ring and sports has inspired me to share this amazing breed with the world in a responsible way. I want to do my part to better the breed. My breeding program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier while placing an emphasis on producing puppies of superior health and pedigree with a focus on the breed standard.

  • What makes your program special?

    Breaking Bad Staffords is committed to breeding dogs that we feel are representations of their standard and will make a positive contribution to their breed. I want to focus on producing well rounded Staffords. Dogs that can are biddable enough to earn titles in whatever avenue desired. The breed is versatile as it is so that’s something I intend to encourage in build on in each litter.

Puppy prices include between $2,500 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Health tested, Ch/GrCh parents who also are titled or participate in sports. AKC papers, microchip, one set of vaccinations at 8 weeks, lifelong support. Size and color have no bearing on price. . Deposits are meant to hold your place. They are non-refundable, exceptions made on a case by basis. Deposits can be transferred to another litter.”

  • Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Kelli was great to deal with. She shared info, photos and videos of the dogs as well as detailed descriptions of personality and attributes. Provided all Vet, shot and chip info with the dog and delivered him personally ensuring no gap in care. She is very professional, personal and a pleasure to deal with. The dog I received is all that and a bag of chips. Ha. He is a beautiful wee thing and is settling in quickly. I would highly recommend Kelli to others looking for a beautiful Staffordshire Bull Terrier in excellent condition.

    It’s only day one with our new pup but Breaking Bad Stafford’s made this such an incredible journey for us. Kelli Tatum the breeder went above and beyond for her pups and for us. She is so loving and caring of all her dogs and we couldn’t have asked for a better breeder to work with. Could not recommend enough! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Communication: was always on point - Very thorough, very clear, all around very very good. She was fast to respond, easy to get a hold of and a bucket of knowledge. Anything we asked she answered - we wanted photos and videos she was on it. We are first time pup owners and had a lot of questions, but at every corner she again put us at ease and made this an exciting time. Travel: was smooth and seamless Couldn’t have asked for an easier experience. We live half a country away from the breeder and figuring out the details to get our new pup to us was not going to be easy. However, Kelli went above and beyond and actually flew with our pup to us making it smooth and stress free - she’s a real pro! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
