I'm Laura N Hooser, Blair N Hooser, and Cynthia Nichols, the breeder behind BriarKeep located in West Lafayette, IN. Two generations of our family care for and work with dogs. We have in the past had the pleasure of owning several Terriers, working, hound, and herding breeds. We now focus on two breeds—border terriers and papillons. Both breeds have wonderful qualities that align with our interests and lifestyles.
Q. & A. with Laura N Hooser, Blair N Hooser, and Cynthia Nichols
Why did you start breeding?
After owning, showing, and competing with our dogs for decades, we realized how difficult it could be for individuals to find purebred puppies that are of suitable temperament and disposition for their homes. Our goal is to responsibly breed puppies to be lifelong companions.
What makes your program special?
With veterinarians in the family and a personal emphasis on continuing education, we strive to use the best practices as guided by research and science. We pride ourselves on seeking out experts in canine health, training, behavior, breeding, etc.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
