Meet the breeder

I'm Victoria P., the breeder behind Brighton Golden Retrievers located in Emporia, VA. Because we have known the heartbreak of losing a dog too soon, we spare no expense on health testing for our breeding dogs. Our goal is to provide families with not just a dog, but a family member that they can count on to be an incredible example of the breed.

Q. & A. with Victoria

  • Why did you start breeding?

Goldens are fiercely loyal to their people. The moment one entered our family, I knew I wanted to do something to better the breed. In 2020, I began building my program. The dogs I wanted for our program would need to check all the boxes - health, temperament, type, and function. I searched until I found the pups that met all of these credentials and more.
  • What makes your program special?

We currently enjoy sports like dock diving, field trials, and conformation, not just to prove their worth, but because it strengthens an already strong bond with our pups and we enjoy the extra time spent with them. I chose the name Brighton for our kennel name because the original sire for the Golden Retriever breed, "Nous", was found at random on the streets of Brighton by the owner of the first dam, "Belle", and how fitting as our Goldens "brighten" our lives every single day.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
