Meet the breeder

I'm Megan D., the breeder behind Brightside Goldens located in Watkins, CO. We are committed to helping families find their forever pup. It is wonderful to share in the experience of placing our puppies with families that will love them as much as we do! We breed for health, sweet temperament & beauty, striving to create beloved life long companions!

Q. & A. with Megan

  • Why did you start breeding?

As a life long dog lover, I began researching around 20 years ago and began raising Goldens in 2016. As my children have grown up they have been part of bringing our pups into the world and caring for them until they go home. What an incredibly rewarding experience to see the joy our pups bring to their new families! I love continuously learning, sharing and supporting others who love Goldens.
  • What makes your program special?

We are always striving to breed better. We raise our pups with neurological stimulation, socialization and other techniques so that our pups will be best prepared for a lifetime of companionship. We are serious about the health of our dogs and are excited to be entering a phase in the next generation of our program where we are 100% clear (no carriers) of the common genetic diseases.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include golden and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We had an amazing experience with Megan! From the very beginning, she were responsive, informative, and clearly passionate about their dogs. My puppy came home happy, healthy, and well-socialized, with all the proper vaccinations and paperwork. It was clear the breeder truly cares for each pup like family. She even followed up after we brought our puppy home to make sure everything was going smoothly. I couldn’t be happier with my new furry family member—thank you for everything!

Megan was wonderful to work with on our journey to find the perfect companion for our other golden following the loss of our 13 year old golden. I appreciate Megan’s careful breeding program with all health clearances on parents giving me peace of mind as well as talented bloodlines. We are thrilled with how smart and beautiful puppy. Megan is a responsible breeder who takes the time to vet prospective puppy parents and takes the time to go over every detail of the transition and helpful tips for feeding, exercise and more. Thank you Megan for a worry free and seamless experience!

Megan was absolutely wonderful to work with! She sent us “pupdates” of our puppy and pictures to let us know how he was doing while we were anxiously waiting to bring him home. Megan sent us home with a goodie bag for our puppy as well as all the paperwork we needed. We received detailed feeding instructions and she replied right away when I reached out to ask questions. We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Megan and our new puppy, Hank!
