A Perfect Way to Ring in the New Year 🎆 Mia’s pregnancy is officially confirmed! ❤️ We have even more to celebrate and look forward to in the new year. This litter is sired by Gianni (MBOSS MBISSOH MRBISOH GRCHS CH Chase Jovial En Vogue TP), a truly exceptional dog with a wonderful temperament, lovely structure, and outstanding record as a producer, including 2021 PCA Best Stud in Show. We’re so excited about what this pairing may bring… 🐩

Update on Mia… For those of you following along, Mia came into season a couple of weeks ago. We were planning to breed her to a lovely boy named Tonic in the United Kingdom using frozen semen. Unfortunately, the shipment has been stuck in Memphis customs for over two weeks now. Despite multiple calls from both vets and myself, we got nowhere until earlier this week when FedEx finally informed us that a USDA form was “missing.” (It was originally submitted, so who knows what happened.) The vet resent the paperwork right away, and I was able to speak with the agent assigned to our case. She’s hopeful the shipment will be released and delivered in the next few days. But, we’re cutting it close, though, as the shipping tank is rated for 21 days and we’re now on day 17. Meanwhile, Mia’s progesterone timing lined up perfectly for a Thanksgiving insemination—my amazing vet was even willing to come in that morning to do the procedure. But with no semen in hand, we couldn’t move forward. I had resigned myself to skipping this cycle until I talked with my friend and handler, Kelly. She mentioned she had a few boys available, including Gianni—a gorgeous dog I remembered from the show ring years ago, back when Mia’s mom was showing. After talking it through, we went ahead, and Mia was successfully bred to him last week. Now we wait for her ultrasound on New Year’s Eve to confirm if the breeding took. I’m disappointed things didn’t work out with Tonic this time, but I’m genuinely excited about the possibility of a Gianni x Mia litter. And I’m still hopeful the shipment will arrive soon and remain viable so we can use it next cycle. Fingers crossed this rollercoaster finally smooths out. If Mia is pregnant, we expect a litter of all cream/white puppies due at the end of January.❤️

Valentino and Versailles's litter
Poodle
About Valentino
Valentino, true to his namesake, is one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you will ever meet. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle, always resting his head on your chest. He has an incredible temperament, very friendly and easy-going--nothing fazes him. He's a perpetually happy boy, always upbeat with his tail wagging on high. He loves to please, and is very easy to train. Structurally, he's very well put together with a stunning head piece, level top line, square body, and balanced angulation. He's still a growing boy--at just about a year old now, he is approximately 23" at the withers and weighs about 45 pounds. We plan to finish him in AKC conformation and then trial him in rally and agility. Once he's old enough, and pending completion of health testing, we plan to use him in our breeding program.
