Why did you start breeding?
I have a daughter who is on the spectrum and also allergic to dogs. I was in search of a hypoallergenic breed as a good companion animal for her. Havanese was the perfect breed. We fell in love and decided to start breeding to spread the joy that havanese have brought to our lives.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Makell
Makell has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Makell partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
"We like to match puppies with the right families. We encourage waiting till at least 6 weeks of age so temperment is starting to show. Puppies are not able to go to new homes until 10weeks of age. "
Price
"The price includes limited AKC registration, Vet check, and immunizations, and a 1 year health guarantee. Standard colored Havanese puppies are less than Chocolate Havanese due to rarity and demand."

Parent health testing

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

I can't say enough good about this breeder! She really works with the puppies, socializing, exposing to everyday sounds, crate training and so much more. Our little guy, Javi, came to us litter box trained, confident and balanced. Makell was very easy to talk with and she provided us with very good ideas, tips and information.
