Samantha B.

Breeder of Pembroke Welsh Corgis and American Corgis

Meet the breeder

I'm Samantha B., the breeder behind Brunett Corgi Co located in Mineral Point, WI. At Brunett Corgi Co., we raise healthy, well-loved American Corgis in our family home. Our puppies grow up around kids, daily handling, and real-life socialization. We focus on responsible breeding, great temperaments, and preparing each puppy for a happy, confident life.

Q. & A. with Samantha

  • Why did you start breeding?

I began breeding after studying the breed, genetics, and responsible practices for years. My own dogs’ wonderful temperaments inspired me to give that experience to other families by raising healthy, confident puppies in a loving home environment.
  • What makes your program special?

I keep my program small so each puppy gets individual attention. My dogs live in my home, not kennels, and every litter is raised with love, early stimulation, and real-world experiences to build confident, well-adjusted puppies.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Good level

Brunett Corgi Co reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for American Corgis.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
