Meet the breeder

I'm Laurie S., the breeder behind Brushfire Siberians located in Springfield, VA. Our dogs are part of the family and enjoy watching television on the couch with us as much as working on their titles. We also focus on things like rally and obedience, dock diving, agility, barn hunt and nose work. Although we do prefer our dogs to Finish their Championship, we do understand not all dogs enjoying showing, and that comes first . Our Siberians receive the minimum Canine Good Citizen or the AKC ATT, and health clearances. We're a small family run program and have been in the Siberian world since 1988. Our dogs are bred with Heart, and raised following the puppy culture program .

Q. & A. with Laurie

  • Why did you start breeding?

As a child, I was always wishing to one day show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog show, so I purchased my first show dog in 2003. Then came others. Eventually, my breeders decided to retire, so I decided to continue on the lines and look for other compatible lines to add to a breeding program. I owe all this to my foundation kennel and a few other breeders who have guided me along the way.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are well-rounded and excel in just about everything they are introduced into. We also maintain the temperaments that we believe make our Siberians outstanding family companions, in addition to our dogs being bred to the standard for health, structure, and movement.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
