Why did you start breeding?
I became interested during the years of involvement with dog shows. I also spent 12 years serving on the board of directors for an animal shelter. That experience taught me what type of program I wanted to establish. I spent a long time deciding on the breed, and eventually knew it would be Havanese for their size, temperament, and hypoallergenic coat.What makes your program special?
After spending several years researching breeds and breeders, I was fortunate to locate an exceptional dam and sire. I say that we are a boutique breeder, simply meaning we are small and selective with a litter planned only every 1 - 2 years. The puppies are part of my family, until they are part of yours.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Cate
Cate has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Cate partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“This is a selective boutique breeding program with one litter per year. There is no wait list. When puppies are available many photos are on a website and a potential owner fills out a form on the website and we proceed from there. I live with the puppies, and I can assess personality and temperament. AKC registration is limited.”
Price
“The price includes AKC registration, initial 8 week vaccinations, and deworming. They are scheduled to have a 2nd round of shots and microchipping in two weeks. Puppies have constant socialization with adults, children, and other dogs, and are accustomed to normal household activity. All puppies are the same price.”
