Q. & A. with Margareth

  • Why did you start breeding?

We hope to help families find their puppies from responsible and ethical sources to help build a better and safer world for our dogs. We also value the connections we form with our buyers and love to continue to watch our puppies grow up through their eyes.
  • What makes your program special?

When we bring a life into the world, we take that responsibility seriously and do everything we can to make sure it gets the best start possible. Additionally, any pup or dog from our program is a part of our pack for life, and we will always have a home for them here if they need it.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies include cream, apricot, and red. Golden Retriever puppies include golden and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Margareth and her husband from California Golden Love have been so wonderful to work with! It's now been 4 days since we've brought our little fur baby home, and he's been so wonderful and such a joy to have added to our family. After doing some research for one of, what I found to be the best breeders for Golden Retrievers, I came across Margareth's profile on Good Dogs and I couldn't have been more blessed. Margareth is very detail oriented and ensures that her future pup's family is fully informed of everything about the litters. My family and I looked forward to our weekly pupdates, which were sent out every Monday. When it came closer to the time of picking our puppy, she gave us a detailed list of each of their characteristics and personalities. At the time of pickup, my family and I received everything for our little puppy, a care package that included a blanket with his litter mates scent on it, a bag of food, treats, a few toys and a packet with all his information on it, such as vaccines, pedigree and health testing, and special tips on caring for our new pup! I would definitely recommend California Golden Love to anyone looking for a beautiful Golden Retriever!

Working with Margareth and California Golden Love has been the most incredible experience. From day one, Margareth was kind, professional, responsive, and so genuine. It’s so clear how much love she, her husband, and their kids pour into each litter. These puppies are truly raised as part of their family. Every Monday, California Golden Love sent a “pupdate” with pictures of my pup along with helpful information to prepare me for bringing him home. They created such a thorough checklist and “things you should know” packet, which made me feel completely ready and confident. Margareth’s descriptions of each puppy’s personality were the sweetest… I felt like I knew my little guy before I even met him. And the photos! They take professional-quality pictures with the cutest props. It made every update feel so special and fun. Communication was exceptional. Margareth always responded within the same hour, or at the very latest within the same business day. She is incredibly informative and clearly prioritizes the health, temperament, and wellbeing of her puppies above all else. I live in Southern California and fully expected to travel to pick up my puppy. To my surprise, they offered to bring him all the way to Burbank, a 10+ hour trip, completely complimentary and with such joy. On pickup day, Margareth kept me updated throughout the day with her husband’s ETA. Upon pickup they provided me a go bag with toys, food, treats, a blanket, and a folder of all his docs. The docs included our printed and signed contract, a puppy and socialization guide, his vaccine info, wellness pet exam info, the mom and dad’s pedigree and health info from AKC and OFA, and Fi Microchip info. It’s also so clear how much intentional work they do with their puppies before they go home. Gunnar is not phased by sounds at all, and he is completely comfortable with us touching his face, ears, and paws. He is so trusting and confident. You can tell they spent time handling and socializing him and his littermates. My golden, Gunnar, is the happiest, silliest, most social little guy. He is incredibly healthy and absolutely gorgeous. He has brought so much joy into our home already. This entire experience has been a dream come true for me. I feel so lucky and grateful to be part of the California Golden Love family. This isn’t just a breeding program, it’s their pride, passion, and their life. I cannot recommend them enough!

Our experience purchasing our Golden Retriever from Margareth was absolutely wonderful. She kept us updated every single week until the day our sweet Maca came home. He is beautiful, healthy, and had full genetic testing done to check for any predisposition to diseases — everything came back perfect. Maca comes from a pure, exceptional bloodline, and our family couldn’t be happier to have him with us. We are truly grateful to Margareth for her care, professionalism, and dedication throughout the entire process. Highly recommended. ❤️🐾

Margareth was so responsive and knowledgeable about Goldens. You can tell they really care about their dogs. It’s been such a smooth transition thanks to all the work they put in towards training before he transitioned to our home. They stayed in touch and sent me regular updates about my puppy. Good Dog made the process so easy, with great information, links and communication between us and Margareth. Our little baby boy Stuart has really been a dream come true! We are so in love with this boy and could not be more thankful to Margareth and Golden Love!
