I'm Joan G., the breeder behind Camelot Staffords located in Fair Oaks, CA. We are home-based breeders striving to produce top-quality Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppies! We breed with standards and temperament in mind. Years ago, I finally found a breeder and that became a relationship for life. I hope to bring to each new puppy buyer a relationship that we will always feel comfortable with each other for questions, answers, and mentoring.
Q. & A. with Joan
Why did you start breeding?
My brother moved to the UK, and as a teenager, I would visit for the summer. My job while there was to walk the Staffords. I fell in love with the breed. After I finished school, I could not find the quality that I saw in the UK and was determined to bring that level of quality back to the states. Hence, I became a breeder to attain what my vision of a Stafford was and still is today!
What makes your program special?
My program is special first of all because of the quality of the dogs I use for breeding. I imported my original breeding stock and now my sire. He is the only English Champion in the US and is also a US Grand Champion. My dogs are all health tested and usually have their CHIC certificate. Pups are always in the house and part of the family. They are exposed to people, noises, and all environments. I am very conscious about who I rehome my puppies to and always ensure that each one goes to the best home possible complementary to its personality and ability.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
