Hope W.

Breeder of Poodles

Meet the breeder

I'm Hope W., the breeder behind Caney Creek Kennel & Grooming located in Ripley, MS. We raise and breed AKC standard Poodles. Dogs have always been my passion and life without them wouldn't be the same! We genetically test our dogs and are able to predict the potential color genetics of our future litters. Most importantly, we strive to produce the best quality pups from parents with full DNA genetic health testing with strong genetic genes and excellent temperaments. We look forward to connecting with you!

Q. & A. with Hope

  • Why did you start breeding?

Responsible, ethical breeders play an important role in the future of the dog ecosystem. We are guardians for the future Poodles. I am devoted to ensuring there are happy and healthy Poodles for others to enjoy and do so by responsibly growing this incredible breed.
  • What makes your program special?

All of our Poodles are bred, raised, and loved indoors to produce happy, healthy pets who are great companions for individuals and families alike. At Caney Creek Kennel, we understand the importance of genetics, health, and temperament, and every breeding decision is made accordingly. Each puppy is cherished from the moment of birth and given the best start, I can possibly provide. It would be my pleasure to introduce your family to your next Poodle!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Caney Creek Kennel & Grooming reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Sebaceous Adenitis (SA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
