I'm Jill Y., the breeder behind Carolina Golden Mountain Doodles located in Chester, SC. This is the beginning of a thoughtfully curated line. Winnie and Bear’s first and only litter will be raised with love and intention. We chose Bear to complement Winnie’s gentle temperament, with the hope of carrying on the exceptional lineage of these two beloved dogs.
Q. & A. with Jill
Why did you start breeding?
I never set out to be a breeder—but after raising Winnie and seeing her sweet, intuitive nature, we knew she was something special. So many people who met her would say, “If she ever has puppies, I want one!” That planted the seed. After years of love and care, and with the right timing and the perfect match in Bear, we felt called to share her legacy—just once—with a few lucky families.
What makes your program special?
Hi, I’m Jill!
This is a one-of-a-kind journey for our family. This is Winnie's first and only litter. Our goal is simple: to place these special puppies with families who will treasure them as much as we do.

Litter update on 21 June •
2 week old pups. All thriving and gaining weight steadily. This litter is extremely well-tempered, which is exactly what we were hoping for when breeding Winnie and Bear. Their temperaments are exceptional. Neither are big barkers or whiners. Neither bite or nip. Both are loving and independent. They also bond to all family members and love meeting new people. We hope to see these same traits in this litter.

About Winnie
Winnie is our family dog and has the kind of calm, gentle temperament that makes her easy to trust and easy to love. She’s incredibly patient with kids, quiet in the house, and happiest just being near her people. She has a steady, intuitive nature and brings a sense of calm wherever she goes. Health-tested through Embark and raised in our home, Winnie is the kind of dog who settles in close and stays—soft-hearted, loyal, and endlessly kind.

We recently adopted our beautiful fur baby through Jill!! The puppy we adopted was Atlas (we shortened her name to Ash)!! Jill was meticulous in making sure everything was a good fit, and it became apparent Jill really cared about her dogs including the homes her dogs went to. We also loved that Jill wasn’t a normal regular breeder, but was doing this as a one time experience to share the amazing relationship she had with the mother dog, their family dog so others can have a loving dog from strong caring genes!! Of course regular breeders can be great too, but the fact the mom of this puppy-liter was the family dog really added a sense of comfort to us moving forward to adopt!! We also loved that Jill’s kids loved the puppy’s and spent time with them, even taking them for rides and were part of their daily care!! This socialization is so crucial for puppy development and Jill’s family was all over that making sure the puppy’s had experiences and time with children (so important )!!
From the time we contacted Jill to even after Ash came home with us Jill has been very involved, always willing to answer questions, and cared about each step of the process for our puppy to find her forever home!! We had talked to other breeders and Jill was a step above in all areas and we are so happy we went with this breeder and got our puppy Ash from them!!
The proof is in the pudding, as they say. When we got Ash home the absolute best puppy bloomed for us. Ash is fun, affectionate, loving and healthy!! We can tell Ash had a great start with Jill and her family, making it easy to continue the socialization and exposure (so important for a puppy to grow into a dog). We are more than pleased we chose this breeder and ultimate adopted Ash. The proof of a well balanced loving dog is really what cemented how well this breeder did loving and socializing these puppies!! Our family feels complete again having Ash here!! Ash is now enjoying a-lot of playtime, relaxation and sunset runs on the beach!! Thank you Jill!!
A good dog comes from good stock, which includes a good breeder!! I can’t recommend going with Jill and her family enough!! You will be very happy!! I know Jill did this as a one time thing, but I hope she does it again. She was a natural and most of all she loves dogs, as does her family.
Good luck with your search for a fur baby, it’s a dogs life!!
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
