I'm SUSAN C., the breeder behind CARRY ON SCHNAUZERS located in Mount Dora, FL. My breeding focuses on true Giant Schnauzers and Miniature Schnauzers. I do my best to adhere to the breed standards. We strive for great temperaments, because they are always a pet. Structure because whether you show breed or sport or play, they need proper structure to perform.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My decision to breed came from encouragement of my mentors. They started by sending me the best for conformation, educated me about the breeds, and counseled me how to breed good dogs for conformation and pets.
  • What makes your program special?

    My slogan/tag line is - Bred within the Standard. Breeding to preserve and protect the Giant Schnauzer breed through thoughtful breedings. Temperament Structure Proper coats Coat colors only recognized in the breed standards. Healthy breeding and dogs tested We welcome all buyers into the Carry On family We are mentors for life
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Miniature Schnauzer puppies include salt and pepper, black and silver, and black. Giant Schnauzer puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

SUSAN has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, SUSAN partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“I extensively interview potential owners over the phone. I have specific questions during the interview. We do the Volhard Puppy Temperament Test at about 7 weeks old to have a potentially better idea of temperament. It helps in the matching of potential owners. ”

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $4,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Brucellosis, Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific), DNA Repository, OFA/CHIC DNA Repository, Dilated Cardiomyopathy (Schnauzer Type)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
