I'm Erin G., the breeder behind Castle Gnome Swedish Vallhunds located in Queens, NY. We love this breed and do everything we can to help it thrive. We give each of our dogs and puppies the best care that we can. We have outstanding puppies with wonderful temperaments that thrive in the ring and as our companions. Our goal is to produce puppies that can compete in a variety of venues, as well as be faithful friends to their loving families.
Q. & A. with Erin
Why did you start breeding?
I used to be a private dog walker/dog assistant for families on the Upper East Side in New York City. While doing this I was volunteering at The NYC Animal Care Centers of NYC. I decided to switch gears and work for ACC when approached with an offer. I worked as a dog and cat handler but was known in the facilities for my knowledge and handling of rabbits and exotics. Kevin works in healthcare but his hobbies are computers and tech. I went to school for Art History and Kevin, well, has more varying degrees that I can keep up with. So we wanted to combine our passions. Dogs, 3D printing & art . After some time, and research we were gifted with finding Justina and Nick Hagerman of Skyfyre Swedish Vallhunds in Florida. With the amazing support of the Val community, our Daisy is on the road to becoming a Champion and continuing the breeds lines.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program is a small family business. All of my babies , fur and human, are all taken care of by me my husband and a shout out to Lala and Poppop, best grandparents! Everyone gets personalized love and attention so our puppies will be rather spoiled when you get them. Sorry not sorry.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include gray and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
