I'm Cynthia H., the breeder behind Castlewood Basset Hounds located in Olathe, CO. Our dogs are socialized within our home and have the opportunity to roam our ranch. They are healthy, happy well-adjusted breed standard Basset Hounds. We have spent countless hours researching the breed and purchasing only the finest bred hounds available to only enhance the Basset Hound breed.

Why did you start breeding?
We waited until we could afford quality dogs with good bloodlines and began the journey. We made sure they were healthy and conformationally correct.
What makes your program special?
We spend every day with the dogs. Puppies are closely monitored for health and temperaments. Our puppies are socialized with round-the-clock and are well-rounded pups when they leave for their new homes.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Cynthia
Cynthia has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“This price includes AKC registration, a vet health report, deworming, 1st puppy shots, pedigree certificate, and a litter registry certificate. The deposit will hold your position on the waiting list. Your non refundable deposit will be rolled forward to next available litter if puppy does not become available to you for some unforeseen reason.”
Contract & health guarantee
Cynthia may provide a written contract or
health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps
protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you
both have a clear understanding of the terms of your
puppy purchase. If Cynthia offers a contract
or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them.
