Raised around dogs my entire life, I founded Catskills Greatest Danes to produce healthy, well-socialized European Great Danes. Our puppies are family raised, health focused, and matched with loving homes where they can thrive for a lifetime.

Why did you start breeding?
Growing up, I was surrounded by dogs and learned the importance of responsible breeding from my family. That foundation inspired me to create Catskills Greatest Danes, where my passion is preserving exceptional European bloodlines while raising healthy, well-socialized companions for families who will cherish them for lifeWhat makes your program special?
At Catskills Greatest Danes, every puppy is raised inside our home as part of our family. From day one, they’re exposed to children, everyday household life, and positive socialization to help them develop confident, loving temperaments. Joanna has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Joanna partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“The price of the Puppy includes the following: Akc Certified (Limited Or Full depending) One-Year Health Guarantee Starter Puppy Packs Microchipped With AKC Reunite Clean bill of Health Dewormed. Our puppies require a deposit to be held once born and the remainder of payment on puppies is due at the 6 week mark.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Inherited Myopathy in Great Danes (IMGD)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
