I'm Sara G., the breeder behind Cedar Cove Standard Poodles located in Twin Falls, ID. Our mission is to produce healthy, active & resilient puppies for engaged homes. We achieve this through selective breeding of structurally sound, health-tested parents with stable temperament, and through our extensive puppy rearing protocols. Both Volhard & APET are used to match puppies to homes.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We began breeding out of a desire to bring others the same joy and happiness that we receive through sharing our lives with Standard Poodles. We want to give back to the breed, and to others, by producing quality puppies and promoting responsible and ethical breeding practices. We strive to be true breed fanciers that further the breed and preserve the traits that make our poodles one-of-a-kind.

  • What makes your program special?

    We give our puppies the best start possible by completing full CHIC testing on every parent, and using science-backed puppy-raising programs to socialize and prepare our puppies for their future homes. We recognize the importance of placing the right puppy in the right home, and use the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test and the Avidog Puppy Evaluation Test (APET) to match puppies to the right family.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include apricot, blue, cream, red, gray, silver, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Sara

Sara has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $750 deposit and $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“This price includes puppy w/ limited AKC registration, microchip, deworming, first rounds of vaccines, a snuggle pup, blanket, food, and a puppy packet to help puppies adjust to their forever homes. Deposits are transferrable for one litter and then refunded if breeder determines they do not have a puppy that meets your needs within a desired litter. If buyer backs out, deposit is non-refundable.”

Contract & health guarantee

Sara may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 4 (rcd4), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), von Willebrand Disease III (vWD III), Full Embark Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
