Meet the breeder

I'm Avery J., the breeder behind Cedar Ridge Standard Poodles located in Bellville, OH. Our puppies are raised in our home by our family of 5 on our 40 acre farm with early neurological stimulation (ENS), early scent introduction (ESI), noise and texture exposure, early potty and crate training and grooming, introduction to basic commands, and temperament tested. They’re exposed to people of all ages, our other dogs, and our cats. We follow the Puppy Culture protocols and the BAB Program.

Q. & A. with Avery

  • What makes your program special?

Our puppies are born and raised in our home on 40 acres of farm land. From 3 days old to 2 weeks they will have Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction. Starting at 2.5 weeks old they will all get their first face shave and have weekly face/feet shaved thereafter to desensitize them to grooming. As soon as their eyes open we add a potty area (grass patch) to their whelping box so they get a jumpstart on potty training. By 7 weeks old, 90% of their potties are on the grass patch!! They will have their first bath and a crate introduced to their area at 4 weeks old. At 5 weeks they will start napping in their crate, and at 6 weeks they'll be sleeping overnight in their crates. I start the Puppy Culture protocol "manding" (sitting to say please instead of jumping/barking) at 5 weeks old. Basic commands like sit, down, go place, stay, and leash walking we start working on at 6 weeks old. At 7 weeks old they will be temperament tested with the Puppy Aptitude Test to help guide me in helping families choose the best fit for their home. They will be exposed to children and people of all ages and our cats and other dogs.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include apricot, brown, cream, parti, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
