I'm Marissa C., the breeder behind Chestnut Great Danes located in Edinburg, TX. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. We fell in love with the breed because of their intelligence and personality. There’s hardly a better feeling than being able to share them with other families that will love them the way that we do!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Our love for Great Danes inspired us to begin breeding over a decade ago. We quickly fell in love with the breed's gentle, loyal, and affectionate nature. Since then, we've dedicated ourselves to learning as much as possible about responsible breeding, health, temperament, and raising puppies that are well-prepared for life with their new families.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our puppies are raised with care from day one and are treated like part of the family. We prioritize health, temperament, and proper socialization to give each puppy the best possible start. Our breeding dogs are health tested, our puppies are AKC registered, receive regular deworming, age-appropriate vaccinations, a veterinary health check, and come with a two-year health guarantee. We also provide lifetime breeder support because we believe our commitment doesn't end when a puppy goes home.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include chocolate and white, silver, chocolate, blue, harlequin, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Marissa

Marissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Marissa partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,300 - $2,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

    Marissa was really good with responding and providing information throughout the entire process. I can tell she treated the pups litter real well because my pup Azula (Lulu) haas been very gentle and easy going with little to no struggle crate training, potty training, and a bit of on leash training.     Since the moment we communicated everything went smooth great answering and great communication all around! They worked with me and were able to just make it happen.
