I'm Cassandra B., the breeder behind Christiana Creek Goldens located in Niles, MI. Our dogs are bred using science based standards. We use pennhip testing to ensure good structure instead of subjective OFA, we use as much testing that is proven that is available. We raise our puppies with the rule of 7, which ensures good basic socialization as well as the use of an ENS room.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our females and males are raised in homes. They are bred for good health and good temperament. We stand by our dogs, and we have repeated customers because of that.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Cassandra

Cassandra partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes deworming, first two sets of vaccines, vet visit, a puppy pack including positive training book and tools. You also will receive a positive training demonstration with your puppy. A deposit is refundable for any reason.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
