I'm Christine C., the breeder behind Christine's cockapoos located in Virginia Beach, VA. We put a lot of time and care into socializing our puppies from the moment they’re born. Q. & A. with Christine
Why did you start breeding?
I started by watching YouTube videos. Then I joined several groups on Facebook so I could learn from others on various topics. That was really helpful because they were able to recommend favorite books on the subject. Finally, I got a few mentors that shared my philosophy of breeding to help me through the process. Lastly, I got my girls.
What makes your program special?
Since cockapoos are a hybrid dog many breeders don't go follow the AKC guidelines of health testing their dogs. I do. I make sure both males and females have passed their DNA and OFA health testing. Because of this they are over the recommended guideline of 2 years old before they start in a program. I also follow puppy culture to ensure my puppies are on their way to good manners. Typical size is 10-12 lbs
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are mini size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red, sable, buff, black and tan, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
