Meet the breeder

I'm Hannah D., the breeder behind Clay Hill Kennels located in Hedgesville, WV. At Clay Hill Kennels, we strive to connect each family with the puppy of their dreams! We believe that quality puppies start with quality parents. This is why each of our dogs is selected for their health, temperament, and breed standard. Excellent nutrition, fresh air, and clean water are important for every canine! We take great care in providing each of our dogs with just the right diet formulated to meet their needs. Our breeding program uses the Excellence In Breeding (EIB) Program as a guide to our parasite prevention plan and vaccination schedule. All of our puppies are vet checked by our licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. They are up to date on their shots, boosters, and dewormer. All of our puppies are well socialized in a family environment and are exposed to common household sights, sounds, and experiences so we may offer a well-rounded puppy to your family! We provide our puppies with sensory sound stimulation experiences to build their acceptance and confidence to new and strange sounds they might encounter. Each puppy comes with a Health Certificate issued by our vet, a medication record, a 30-Day Health Guarantee, and their registration application (if advertised as registrable)! If you have any questions or to be placed on a waiting list please feel free to contact me!

Q. & A. with Hannah

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have had a love of dogs my entire life and have been a reputable preservation dog breeder for almost 10 years! I started raising puppies in 2016 and love having them as a part of my life!
  • What makes your program special?

What makes my breeding program special? The dogs! Each dog in our program has undergone an assessment in health, personality, and standard to ensure they have met our qualifications before being allowed to have a litter ... It's important to have parents who have excellent health and great temperaments in order to have puppies with equally fine traits. We would love to tell you more about our dogs! Give us a call with any questions you may have!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white, salt and pepper, and black and silver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Working with Hannah was a good experience. She was responsive and answered my questions as we prepared for our new puppy. She was very helpful with arranging for transport of our puppy. The transporter was such a pleasure to work with as well. Our puppy Bugs is so well adjusted and has settled in very nicely. As an experienced dog owner I can tell that he was well socialized and trained to be ready for his new family.
